August Challenge

I really wasn’t sure what I was going to do for this months challenge. I kinda felt like I wanted to do something that was daily and not just one single project that could be done in a day. Something that was more for creating a daily habit. Cause truth be told, I have been slipping with my daily habits of making entries in my Dyalogs.

I didn’t want the daily task to be too overwhelming and feel like a chore…hmmm… So I thought just a simple practice that didn’t have to be the same thing every day. Some days it could be something you want to take note of. Maybe a poem you read or lyrics to a song that just felt right for that day. It could be a memory or something that happened that day that made you smile. You could even do a little sketch or insert a little momento. Anything! Whatever your heart desires. Anything goes.

Think of it as a daily junk journal if you will.

I actually thought about making a book just for this. But I felt like it was going against the whole idea of keeping it simple. lol.

Then I checked my mailbox and there was a SportChek flyer in there. I almost just tossed it immediately.

But wait!

I could use it for the challenge!

SportChek Flyer

Again, I’m sure I overdid it. I could have just covered it in printer paper and that was it. But no, I had to pull out my old scrapbook paper and make it pretty.

So with a little snip snip and paste, I took it…

Of course I couldn’t stop there. I had to make date embellishments for every single day in August. To have them ready to go! And if I was going to do this, I wanted to use up more old art supplies so I pulled out some Heidi Swapp resist die cuts! Then I cut out some numbers. Add a little distress oxides and voila!

I recorded all of this for you. From covering the pages of the flyer to making the date embellishments. You can see it all here on my YouTube channel.

I will share in our Facebook Group Lush’s Creative Peeps progress pictures so you get an idea of what I’m thinking with this challenge. Please feel free to share your pictures as well! We all love seeing everybody’s creations!

So happy creating! I do hope you enjoy the August Challenge!
