January Challenge!

If you are anything like me you really don’t need to start another project. You probably already have half a dozen (or more) started projects. You probably also have tons of embellishments that you have made and even more that you purchased. You probably also have copious amounts of pattern papers or gel printed papers and scraps of papers! You do, don’t you?

Yea, I thought so.

So maybe instead of making more things this month we could focus on using what we already have!

I was thinking this month’s challenge could be to create pages with scraps and things we have been saving forever. To use what we have and not make more things. To not buy more things.

I know! I know! I love making all the new things too. But I also want to see my piles get a little smaller. To have my supplies actually get used!

Okay, so assuming you’ve recovered, let’s get into what I’m thinking for this challenge. It’s really quite simple.

We’re going to use what we have!

I’m thinking all month long we create pages in our journal using scraps and unused embellishments we’ve been hoarding or have already made from previous projects.

I’ve decided to use a specific journal for this challenge. To have all the pages in one journal. You don’t have to do this, but I urge you to use something you already have that has been sitting there for too long.

The journal I have chosen for this challenge is one I adore that I made from taking a class by the sweet Kristi Nazzaro called Soul Snack Tag Journal. The album was so fun to make and I really love how it turned out. It has been waiting to be used!!!

Album I made in Soul Snack Tag Journal Class by Kristi Nazzaro.

If you’re interested in this class, you can find it here.

Here’s a little peak of the inside.

As for what I will use to art on the pages…. I think I can find some things to use and I’m sure you can too. Here are some of the drawers I will be pulling from.

I’m sure I’ll find lots more along the way as well.

I am aiming to create a small page every day but I am not going to pressure myself to do so. If you miss a day, no big deal. If you miss 5 days - no worries! Just play and have fun using things you haven’t seen in a while! Create, explore, shop from your own stash!

I’ve done the first few pages for the month. I’ve kept it really simple.

I have recorded the process of these quick pages for you. You will find the videos on my YouTube channel. I have linked them next to the corresponding picture.

The Playlist on YouTube is called January Challenge, Use What You Have.
